Job summary

Urban Planters in Reading is seeking an Interior Plant Maintenance Technician to service tropical plant displays across a range of client sites. You will water, feed, prune and replace plants, maintain artificial displays and assist with installations.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A full UK driving licence and good communication are essential; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Plant knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Watering, feeding and pest control of live plant displays.
• Replacing dead, dying or overgrown plant displays.
• Maintain artificial plant displays.
• Assist with plant display installations and seasonal installs.
• Ensure maintenance dockets and documentation are completed.

Skills

Full UK driving licence

Excellent verbal and written comm.

Able to work as part of a team

Plant knowledge would be advantageous

Education

Horticulture qualification (desirable)

Job Description

Position: Interior Plant Maintenance Technician

Location: Reading

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,700

Reporting To: Team Leader

The Role

Working as a Interior Plant Maintenance Technician, you will carry out maintenance of tropical plants within a wide sector of businesses, ensuring the best possible service is provided to our ever growing customer base.

Your main duties will include:

• Watering, feeding and pest control of live plant displays
• Replacing dead, dying or overgrown plant displays
• Maintain artificial plant displays
• Assist with plant display installations
• Assist with seasonal installations
• Ensure all maintenance dockets and documentation are completed
• Comply with relevant health and safety
• Building good supplier and customer relationships
• Be mindful of possible sales opportunities

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Full UK drivers licence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Plant knowledge would be advantageous
• Qualification in Horticulture is desirable but is not essential
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous however full training will be provided

As part of your role, you will be required to;

• Always act in a professional manner as a representative of the organisation
• Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements
• Ensure that the clients are always completely satisfied
• Initiate suggestions to improve the organisations performance
• Complete timesheets and other paperwork and ensure all is handed in promptly
