Job description

Interior Landscaping Project Manager (LN21895) South East London, England

Salary: + performance bonus & benefits

Interior Landscaping Project Manager
Salary:
£30,000-£33,000 + up to 20% performance bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week, some weekend work
Location: Based in South East London

Do you have a background in plants alongside strong client-facing and organisational skills? Are you comfortable taking a brief, understanding what a client is looking for and turning that into a well-presented planting proposal? If so, this could be a great opportunity.

This is an opportunity to join a growing, design-led horticultural business with several different arms spanning premium plant retail, e-commerce, commercial plant installations, ongoing plant maintenance and floristry. The business has built a strong reputation for its distinctive approach to plants, design and customer experience, and its commercial plant services division is continuing to grow. They’re now looking for someone to manage incoming client enquiries and coordinate planting projects from initial brief through to installation and aftercare. With several different channels across the wider business, there will also be opportunities to get involved in seasonal projects, retail, online and other wider initiatives.

Your Role: As Interior Landscaping Project Manager, you’ll manage incoming commercial enquiries and coordinate planting projects from initial conversation through to completion. This isn't primarily a cold-sales position. There is already a strong pipeline of incoming enquiries, with the focus on understanding what clients need, interpreting their brief and managing each opportunity properly.

  • Act as the first point of contact for commercial planting and maintenance enquiries.
  • Speak with clients to understand their space, requirements, style and budget.
  • Interpret client briefs and recommend suitable plants, pots and planting solutions.
  • Put together costed proposals, spreadsheets and visual presentations.
  • Coordinate plant and pot ordering and procurement.
  • Manage projects from proposal through to scheduling, installation and follow-up.
  • Coordinate installation teams and keep clients updated throughout.
  • Build relationships with ongoing plant maintenance clients.
  • Manage replacements, follow-up work and invoicing where required.
  • Work alongside the Operations Manager and wider team to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Support other projects across the wider retail, e-commerce, floristry and seasonal sides of the business.
  • Proactively develop new business where appropriate, although cold sales isn't the main focus of the role.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A good foundation of plant knowledge – you don't need to be a horticultural expert, but should understand different plants and growing conditions.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills with the confidence to deal with commercial customers.
  • Good initiative and the ability to take a brief and turn it into a practical planting solution.
  • Excellent organisation and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple enquiries and installations simultaneously.
  • A good eye for design and presentation.
  • Experience using Canva, PowerPoint or similar would be advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence preparing proposals, costings and spreadsheets.
  • Comfortable coordinating suppliers, ordering, schedules and installation teams.
  • Previous sales or business development experience would be useful but isn't essential.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to get involved across different areas of the business.

Your background could be in interior landscaping, horticulture, garden retail, planting design, project coordination or another client-facing plant environment. They know it's unlikely someone will arrive having done every aspect of the position already, so attitude, initiative and the ability to learn are equally important.

Why Apply?
  • Salary of £30,000–£33,000 depending on experience.
  • Up to 20% performance bonus on top of salary.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Annual leave increasing by one additional day for each year of service, up to five additional days.
  • Up to 34 days' annual leave after five years.
  • Your birthday off after one year's service.
  • Management training and development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of a growing area of the business.
  • Exposure to several different areas of a multi-channel horticultural business.
  • Genuine scope for the role to develop as the plant services division continues to expand.
