Job summary

Urban Planters, Reading, is seeking an Interior Plant Maintenance Technician to maintain tropical plant displays across client sites and provide excellent service to our growing customer base.

The role involves hands-on plant care, installations, and ensuring documentation and safety standards are met. Training is provided, with solid progression opportunities in a fast-paced landscaping environment.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Plant knowledge would be advantageous.
• Horticulture qualification desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Watering, feeding and pest control of live plant displays.
• Replacing dead, dying or overgrown plant displays.
• Maintain artificial plant displays.
• Assist with plant display installations.
• Assist with seasonal installations.
• Ensure all maintenance dockets and documentation are completed.
• Comply with relevant health and safety.
• Build good supplier and customer relationships.
• Be mindful of possible sales opportunities.

Job Description

Position: Interior Plant Maintenance Technician

Location: Reading

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,700

Reporting To: Team Leader

The Role

Working as a Interior Plant Maintenance Technician, you will carry out maintenance of tropical plants within a wide sector of businesses, ensuring the best possible service is provided to our ever growing customer base.

Your main duties will include:

• Watering, feeding and pest control of live plant displays

• Assist with plant display installations

• Ensure all maintenance dockets and documentation are completed
• Comply with relevant health and safety
• Building good supplier and customer relationships

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Full UK drivers licence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Qualification in Horticulture is desirable but is not essential
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous however full training will be provided

As part of your role, you will be required to;

• Always act in a professional manner as a representative of the organisation
• Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements
• Ensure that the clients are always completely satisfied
• Initiate suggestions to improve the organisations performance
• Complete timesheets and other paperwork and ensure all is handed in promptly
