Job summary

Marc Daniels Specialist Recruitment is assisting in recruiting an Interim Senior Group Accountant to support the Group Finance function. The role focuses on consolidated reporting, statutory accounts, and technical accounting within a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will own the group consolidation process, manage month- and year-end closes, and coordinate with external auditors. Strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with multi-entity consolidation.
• Experience in senior group accounting and reporting.
• Proficiency in IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience with audits and statutory accounts.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly group consolidation and reporting process across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee intercompany reconciliations and maintain strong balance sheet controls.
• Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
• Manage the year-end audit process and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Provide technical accounting support on complex transactions and new accounting standards.
• Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting procedures.
• Partner with finance teams and senior stakeholders across the business to ensure consistency of financial reporting.
• Support finance transformation projects, systems implementations and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with acquisitions, integrations and other corporate activities where required.
• Produce ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
