Job summary

Major, Lindsey & Africa is recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised technology platform for an Interim Senior Counsel – Privacy, Regulatory & Governance in London. The role leads regulatory engagements, advises on GDPR, and partners with product, policy, and compliance teams to navigate evolving European and UK rules.

You will mentor junior lawyers, manage regulator interactions, and shape governance frameworks across Europe, including DSA, DMA, AI Act, and data protection matters.

Qualifications

• Expertise in privacy, data protection, governance, and enforcement matters.
• Experience engaging directly with regulatory authorities.
• Strong drafting, regulatory submissions, and stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of regulatory engagements, investigations, and enquiries relating to privacy and data protection.
• Manage interactions with regulators and external stakeholders with legal submissions and regulatory responses.
• Advise on impact of emerging European and UK digital regulation (DSA, DMA, AI Act) on GDPR.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance, policy, product, and business functions on regulatory and governance issues.
• Support and enhance privacy governance frameworks, policies, and compliance initiatives across Europe.
• Provide practical, commercially oriented legal advice on privacy and enforcement matters.
• Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects strengthening GDPR compliance and governance.
• Mentor and support junior legal team members.
