Job summary

Jagex in Cambridge is seeking an Interim Revenue Accountant to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll own the monthly revenue recognition process, consolidating data from multiple sources and ensuring accuracy during a period of system transition to Chargebee.

Hybrid role with at least two days in our Cambridge office; you’ll analyze large datasets, run SQL extracts, and develop advanced Excel models to deliver reliable revenue insights for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant status (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience in revenue accounting: revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals and journal entries
• Proven experience reconciling from source data to financial reporting
• Experience with large datasets in finance and consolidating data from multiple sources
• Advanced Excel with Power Query/Power Pivot
• Experience with payment processing systems (PayPal, Adyen) or similar
• Basic SQL skills to extract data from source systems

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly revenue recognition process from multiple source systems.
• Prepare monthly revenue and deferred revenue journals with documentation.
• Reconcile revenue, billing systems and PSP platforms; resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze large revenue datasets to provide clear financial insight.
• Run SQL data extracts to support revenue calculations and variance investigations.
• Develop and maintain Excel models using Power Query/Power Pivot for control and efficiency.
• Support revenue reconciliations for new Chargebee platform during transition.
