Job summary

Jagex is seeking an Interim Revenue Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Cambridge. You will own monthly revenue recognition, reconcile complex datasets, and support the transition to Chargebee, improving automation and control across multiple billing systems.

You will work with PayPal/Adyen and other PSP platforms, building advanced Excel models with Power Query/Power Pivot to deliver accurate reporting and robust financials during a period of change.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in revenue accounting, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with payment processing or transaction-based systems (PSP) such as PayPal or Adyen.
• Strong experience working with large, complex datasets in a finance or accounting environment, consolidating data from multiple sources.
• Basic SQL skills or experience extracting data from source systems.
• Advanced Excel with Power Query/Power Pivot for reconciliations and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly revenue recognition process across multiple source systems, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
• Prepare monthly revenue and deferred revenue journals with full support and timely close.
• Reconcile revenue calculations, billing systems and PSP platforms; resolve discrepancies to protect revenue integrity.
• Analyze large revenue datasets to provide clear, reliable financial insight for stakeholders.
• Run SQL-based data extracts to support revenue calculations, reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Develop and maintain Excel models and reconciliations using Power Query and Power Pivot to improve control and efficiency.
• Support the transition to Chargebee billing platform and ensure reporting continuity during system changes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline revenue accounting processes.
