Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for an Interim Procurement Manager in Sheffield. The role covers end-to-end procurement across a diverse portfolio within the public sector, requiring strong governance and supplier-management capabilities. Hybrid arrangement with three days onsite, supporting bus franchising programmes where applicable.

The assignment is 6 months, paying up to £500 per day inside IR35, with delivery of value-for-money and compliance across procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering end-to-end procurement in a public sector environment.
• Ability to lead complex procurement exercises from market engagement through to contract award.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with senior leaders and decision-makers.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations, governance, and value-for-money principles.
• Experience developing procurement processes, procedures, and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement activity across a diverse portfolio, ensuring compliance, value for money and timely delivery.
• Manage complex procurement exercises from market engagement and tender development through to evaluation, award and contract implementation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, programme teams and legal colleagues to support strategic procurement projects.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, driving best practice in supplier engagement and contract performance.
