Job description

Job Opportunity: Payroll Manager (Interim)

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager available for an urgent interim contract? We are offering a role based in central Bristol with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Pay rate: £140 - £300 per day / or PAYE
  • 35-hour work week
Responsibilities include:
  1. Running timely and accurate monthly payrolls for over 1,000 clients across multiple payrolls, including payments to clients and HMRC.
  2. Ensuring timely submission of RTI to HMRC.
  3. Managing yearly process schedules in line with UK Government tax regulations and HMRC, as well as overseas tax regulations.
  4. Providing excellent customer service and handling client queries effectively, including over the phone.
  5. Resolving HMRC queries promptly.
  6. Liaising with HMRC to resolve PAYE queries.
  7. Building positive relationships with Administration Teams across various sites to ensure timely data receipt and quick query resolution.
  8. Producing and distributing payslips, P45s, and P60s electronically or via post, based on client preference.
  9. Generating payroll reports as requested by colleagues.
  10. Maintaining payroll processing spreadsheets to identify clients requiring processing each payroll period.
  11. Processing PAYE payments to HMRC each tax period.
  12. Supporting business transfer processes, including payroll reports and TUPE client processing.
  13. Inputting payroll data into Sage payroll system.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in running accurate monthly payrolls for employees.
  • Producing weekly absence reports.
  • Generating monthly variance reports and identifying significant pay changes.
  • Timely submission of RTI to HMRC.
  • Managing yearly process schedules in accordance with tax regulations.
  • Producing P11Ds.
  • Collaborating on monthly pension and workplace benefit processing.
