Job summary

Bid Solutions is seeking an experienced Interim Operations Director for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Birmingham, with hybrid working. The role leads multi-site operations in supported living and accommodation services, taking hold of day-to-day management and driving consistency across services.

You will oversee service managers, streamline processes, manage staffing, audits, safeguarding, and incident oversight.

Qualifications

• Senior level, multi-site operations experience in social care or related fields.
• Experience with regulated and non-regulated services.
• Staff management and workforce planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of service managers, ensuring deadlines and standards are met.
• Run a weekly operational performance meeting and maintain a simple management rhythm.
• Oversee staffing levels, agency spend, vacancies and rotas.
• Handle escalations, incidents, safeguarding and complaints.
• Ensure audit actions and improvements are implemented at service level.
• Introduce standard operating procedures across services.
• Coordinate service mobilisations and readiness for commissioner visits.
• Drive rollout of new operational systems and processes.
• Improve communication between central teams and frontline services.
• Flag risks early and identify decisions needed at executive level.
