Job summary

Clarence House Day Nurseries Ltd is seeking an experienced Early Years leader to join as Cover Nursery Manager, delivering leadership across our nursery sites during absences and interim periods. Travel between sites across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Northamptonshire will be required.

This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role offers a competitive salary from £36,000 per year, depending on experience, plus mileage allowance and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills and ability to adapt quickly to different nursery environments.
• Experience as Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager with proven stability and impact.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for multi-site travel.

Responsibilities

• Step into Nursery Manager roles across different sites to ensure smooth day-to-day running.
• Lead, inspire, and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety and relevant early years legislation.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
• Drive occupancy, staff morale, and operational excellence across the group.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through best practice sharing and development planning.
• Represent the group professionally and adapt quickly to new environments and teams.
