Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Interim Network Engineer to design, implement, support, and optimise enterprise network infrastructure across UK and EMEA locations. The role is based at the Derby HQ, with expects five days on-site and occasional Midlands travel.

You will work on LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and wireless environments, using Cisco/Nexus tech, ITIL change management, and project tools like ServiceNow and Jira. 6-month contract inside IR35 with daily rate £250–£280.

Qualifications

• CCNA certified as a minimum (CCNP highly desirable).
• 5+ years' experience in network engineering roles.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Expertise with OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and other routing protocols.
• Experience with WAN technologies and SD-WAN solutions.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies, IPSEC and network security.
• Experience supporting Cisco and/or Palo Alto firewall environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and network analysis capabilities.
• Wireless networking design and support experience.
• Exposure to datacentre networking and Cisco Nexus technologies would be advantageous.

Description

As the Interim Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimisation of enterprise network infrastructure. Working closely with regional IT teams, you'll provide both BAU support and project delivery across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure across UK and EMEA locations.
• Troubleshooting network performance, availability, and security issues.
• Delivering network improvement and infrastructure refresh projects.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining LAN routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Managing network changes through ITIL-aligned change management processes.

• Supporting manufacturing and operational technology environments.

The role will be based at the Derby HQ, ideally 5 days per week, with occassional travel to sites across the Midlands region as required.

Profile
