New Way Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced Hospice Inspection Consultant for a short-term interim assignment at a hospice in Colchester.

You will conduct CQC inspections, assess the five questions (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led), review governance and safeguarding, and identify gaps to drive improvement.

This role offers a day rate up to £350, with immediate start and a chance to enhance quality and safety in a compassionate hospice setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in CQC inspections, quality assurance or regulatory compliance.
• Experience in hospice, palliative care or clinical healthcare settings desirable.
• Strong report writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are urgently seeking an experienced Hospice Inspection Consultant to undertake a short-term interim assignment at a hospice in Colchester.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in CQC compliance, quality assurance and healthcare inspections, ideally within a hospice, palliative care or clinical healthcare setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CQC Inspector, Quality Consultant or senior healthcare professional who can provide an independent assessment of the service and identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the hospice against current CQC regulations and standards.
• Assess the service across the CQC's five key questions: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
• Review clinical governance, safeguarding, medication management, policies and procedures.
• Identify compliance gaps, risks and areas requiring improvement.
• Evaluate leadership, operational processes and overall service quality.
• Produce a detailed inspection report with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
• Provide guidance on CQC readiness and quality improvement.
• Previous experience conducting CQC inspections, mock inspections or regulatory compliance audits.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks.
• Experience within hospices, palliative care or regulated healthcare services is highly desirable.
• Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide objective, constructive feedback.
• Immediately available to undertake a short-term interim assignment.
