Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a long-term interim Management Accountant in Manchester to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation's accounting and finance processes.

You will produce accruals, support budgeting and forecasting, perform variance analysis, and collaborate with departments to provide financial insights while supporting month-end and year-end closes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Part qualified accountant with strong Management Accounting experience.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

New long term interim Management Accountant role in Manchester. You'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's accounting and finance processes.

Reputable organisation based in the Manchester area.

Description

• Producing and posting monthly accrual and prepayments.
• Support with annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecast preparation.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights.
• Assist with internal and external audit.

Profile

A successful Interim Management Accountant should have:

• Part qualified accountant with strong Management Accounting experience.
• Strong excel skills (including the use of Pivot tables and V-LOOK UPS).
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup.
• Immediately available or able to start their next assignment on a short notice period.

Job Offer

• A competitive hourly rate of £20 - £25 per hour (PAYE), dependent on the level of experience.
