Michael Page Finance is recruiting for a new long-term interim Management Accountant in the Manchester area. You’ll oversee monthly accruals/prepayments, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, with collaborative support across departments and audits. The position is hybrid and suitable for an immediately available candidate.

The role emphasizes accuracy, strong Excel skills, and proactive problem solving within a reputable organisation in the Manchester region.

Qualifications

• Part qualified with strong management accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills incl. Pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup.
• Immediately available or short-notice availability.

Responsibilities

• Producing and posting monthly accruals and prepayments.
• Support with annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecast preparation.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights.
• Assist with internal and external audit.
