Job summary

Maintel in Blackburn is seeking an experienced Management Accountant on an initial 3-month fixed-term contract to support the Finance team during a busy period.

You will deliver monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and variances, while partnering with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders to drive insight and control.

This interim role requires ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent, strong Excel and the ability to clearly communicate financial information to the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA with solid management accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Immediate availability or available at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.
• Manage month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Partner with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders.
• Produce financial reports, dashboards and commentary for senior management.
• Support audit, VAT and broader financial controls.

We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join Maintel on an initial 3-month FTC, supporting our Finance team during a busy period.

This is a great opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of their workload quickly and provide reliable financial insight across the business.

You’ll be responsible for the delivery of monthly management accounts and financial reporting, while partnering with stakeholders to understand performance, variances and cost drivers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis
• Managing month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning
• Partnering with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders
• Producing financial reports, dashboards and commentary for senior management
• Supporting audit, VAT and wider financial compliance activity
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be full or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with solid management accounting experience and the confidence to come into an established Finance function and get up to speed quickly.

Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders will be key.
