Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is sourcing an interim Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to support a council's residential property portfolio. The role involves on-site inspections, defect diagnosis, and managing repair programmes, with remote report writing and administration for a 6-month contract.

Start is immediate; 3-4 days on-site per week, with remaining time spent remotely. The successful candidate will monitor contractor performance, prepare specifications and cost estimates, and ensure safety

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Interim Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Start: Immediate

Working Pattern: 3-4 days per week on-site, with the remainder of the day spent remotely completing inspection reports and administrative duties.

The Role:

An experienced Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor is required to help deliver an effective and customer-focused repairs service across the council's residential property portfolio. The successful candidate will undertake property inspections, identify maintenance issues, manage repair programmes, and monitor contractor performance to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Main Duties:

• Carry out inspections before, during, and after works, as well as assessments of vacant properties.
• Identify building defects and specify appropriate repair solutions.
• Raise repair requests and oversee them through to completion.
• Monitor contractors, ensuring quality, value for money, and performance expectations are achieved.
• Produce work specifications, schedules, and cost estimates where necessary.
• Ensure all activities comply with current health and safety regulations.
• Undertake asbestos-related and general property safety inspections.
• Work closely with residents, contractors, and colleagues to resolve maintenance concerns.
• Contribute to service improvements and help achieve operational performance objectives.

Looking for:

• Proven experience overseeing repairs and refurbishment projects.
