Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking an experienced Interim Assistant Headteacher to provide senior leadership across Key Stage 2 in a North West London primary school. The role focuses on maintaining high standards, supporting staff, and ensuring a strong leadership presence across KS2.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Headteacher and senior team, quickly identifying priorities and delivering practical leadership in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Recent senior leadership experience in a primary school is essential.
• Experience as an Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or equivalent senior leader is required.
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of Key Stage 2.
• Solid grasp of teaching, learning and assessment within the primary phase.
• Ability to lead with confidence from the outset and begin at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, visible leadership across KS2.
• Work with Headteacher and senior team to drive standards.
• Support teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality teaching and pupil outcomes.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Lead day-to-day operational and pastoral matters with calm and effective oversight.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are central to leadership practice.
