Job summary

Principal People are partnering with a well–established ground engineering organisation to appoint an Interim Health and Safety Advisor for six months. Based in Bedford with site travel to Milton Keynes and Cambridge, you will conduct site inspections, provide safety advice, inductions and toolbox talks, and contribute to accident investigations and reporting.

The successful candidate will be a strong verbal communicator with NEBOSH General (or equivalent), CSCS, and BPSS.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General qualification or equivalent.
• CSCS card
• BPSS clearance or able to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Site inspections across projects.
• Provide health and safety advice on site.
• Deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents.
• Prepare and maintain health and safety reporting.

Job description

Principal People are excited to be partnered with a well–established specialist ground engineering organisation, who are looking for an Interim Health and Safety Advisor to join them on a 6–month contract, working on one of their projects with a prestigious client of theirs. This role will be based in the Bedford area with site travel when required spanning from Milton Keynes to Cambridge. The successful candidate will be working an operational role undertaking site inspections, general health and safety advice, safety inductions, toolbox talks, accident investigation and health and safety reporting amongst other duties. They are looking for a strong verbal communicator and the role is to pay a daily rate of GBP(Apply online only)/day (Outside IR35). They are looking to onboard as soon as possible.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will:

• NEBOSH General qualified (or Equivalent)
• Hold a valid CSCS Card (or willing to obtain one)
• Be Baseline Security (BPSS) checked or able to pass one.
• Experience within civils, groundworks, piling, excavations, utilities etc
• Experience of temporary works / lifting operations is desirable
• Be available to start at short notice
• Be an engaging, strong communicator able to liaise at all levels.
