Job summary

Principal People is partnering with a well-established ground engineering specialist to recruit an Interim Health and Safety Advisor for a 6-month contract. Based in Bedford with site travel across Milton Keynes to Cambridge, the role involves site inspections, inductions, toolbox talks, accident investigations, and safety reporting on a live project.

NEBOSH General qualification, CSCS, and BPSS clearance are required, with civils/groundworks experience.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General qualified (or Equivalent).
• Hold a valid CSCS Card (or willing to obtain one).
• Baseline Security (BPSS) checked or able to pass one.
• Experience within civils, groundworks, piling, excavations, utilities etc.
• Experience of temporary works / lifting operations is desirable.
• Be available to start at short notice.
• Be an engaging, strong communicator able to liaise at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and provide general health and safety advice.
• Deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and report findings.
• Assist on health and safety reporting and compliance on site.
• Liaise with project stakeholders across levels.

Job description

Principal People are excited to be partnered with a well-established specialist ground engineering organisation, who are looking for an Interim Health and Safety Advisor to join them on a 6-month contract, working on one of their projects with a prestigious client of theirs. This role will be based in the Bedford area with site travel when required spanning from Milton Keynes to Cambridge. The successful candidate will be working an operational role undertaking site inspections, general health and safety advice, safety inductions, toolbox talks, accident investigation and health and safety reporting amongst other duties. They are looking for a strong verbal communicator and the role is to pay a daily rate of £#removed#/day (Outside IR35). They are looking to onboard as soon as possible.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will:
