Job Summary

Newcastle Contemporary Art (NCA) is seeking an experienced, hands‑on fundraising and development professional to lead and deliver its major funding applications, strengthen its financial sustainability and support its transition to charitable status.

Job Description

Newcastle Contemporary Art (NCA) is seeking an experienced, hands‑on fundraising and development professional to lead and deliver its major funding applications, strengthen its financial sustainability and support its transition to charitable status.
This is a delivery-focused role, not an advisory appointment. The successful candidate will take direct responsibility for researching, developing, writing, coordinating and submitting major funding bids, including preparation for an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) application.

Working closely with the Board of Directors and Gallery team, the Interim Head of Fundraising and Development will play a central role in securing NCA's long‑term future as a sustainable, ambitious contemporary arts organisation.

Established in 2021 following the closure of the Baltic39 gallery, NCA presents a diverse programme of exhibitions and events in partnership with local and national organisations across the cultural, educational, voluntary and business sectors.
NCA is preparing for its next stage of development: a transition from its existing Community Interest Company (CIC) structure towards a charity with an associated trading organisation, alongside establishing a stronger and more sustainable funding base to support its artistic programme and public benefit.

This is an important moment in the organisation's development, offering an opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to make a tangible and lasting contribution to the cultural landscape of Newcastle and the North East.

SALARY : £10K for 50 days work spread between mid-November to End of April. Flexible and in consultation with the Directors.
