Job summary

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with ~2 years post-qualified experience.
• Strong technical accounting background, ideally in group reporting or financial accounting.
• Experience with consolidations and multi-entity reporting is highly desirable.
• Hospitality, leisure, retail, or multi-site environment experience is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting/consolidation systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confident communicator working with finance and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are supporting a dynamic, multi-site hospitality business in the appointment of an Interim Group Reporting Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, recently qualified accountant to join a fast-paced finance function and play a key role in delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and wider finance team, the successful candidate will take ownership of key reporting activities, support the month-end process and ensure the integrity of financial information across a complex, multi-entity business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and group reporting packs.
• Prepare and review group consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations and adjustments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across multiple entities.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS / UK GAAP as applicable.
• Analyse financial performance across the group, identifying material variances and providing commentary.
• Work closely with operational finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across sites.
• Support improvements to reporting processes, financial controls and systems.

Candidate Profile:

• ACA / ACCA qualified accountant with approximately 2 years' post-qualified experience.
• Strong technical accounting background, ideally gained within a group reporting or financial accounting environment.
• Previous experience of consolidations and multi-entity reporting is highly desirable.
• Experience within hospitality, leisure, retail or another multi-site environment would be advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting / consolidation system
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.
