Job summary

Goodman Masson is seeking an Interim Group Financial Controller in London, hybrid working, for a 5-month contract. The role requires a qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience and a proven track record in group finance leadership.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the finance function, oversee monthly and statutory reporting, manage external audits, and contribute to strategic projects including due diligence and M&A, while owning the ERP system to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with at least 8 years post-qualification experience (likely more).
• Experience leading a Finance team of 5+.
• Strong experience in group financial reporting, monthly management reporting, statutory statements, and consolidated accounts.
• Experience with external audits and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance team of 12 people, promoting strong performance, accountability, and professional growth.
• Take full responsibility for the Group’s financial reporting, including monthly management reporting, statutory financial statements, and consolidated accounts.
• Manage the external audit process and deliver all statutory and regulatory reports within required deadlines.
• Contribute to strategic projects such as growth initiatives, investment evaluations, and mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration where relevant.
• Take ownership of the ERP system maintaining data accuracy, streamlining processes, and delivering high-quality financial insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an iconic Sports company as their Interim Group Financial Controller. It requires a qualified accountant with a minimum of 8 years post qualified (likely to be more) with previous experience in group controller role, managing teams of at least 5.

The Group Financial Controller reporting directly into the CFO and will lead all core finance for the company.
