Job summary

Foundation Scotland is seeking an interim Grants Assessor to join our team for a six-month fixed-term contract. Qualifications

• Experience assessing funding applications, grants or similar decision-making processes.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence reviewing budgets and financial information.
• Excellent written communication, sound judgement and close attention to detail.
• An understanding of Scotland’s voluntary and community sector and the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assess grant applications consistently and proportionately, considering organisational strength, community need, project design and potential impact.
• Review budgets, governance, safeguarding and other due diligence information.
• Write clear assessment reports and make well-reasoned funding recommendations.
• Communicate professionally with applicants to clarify information and manage assessments to agreed timescales.
