Job summary

Hightown Housing Association is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to join our Finance team during a critical period of change. You will lead balance sheet assurance, provide expert technical accounting guidance under FRS 102, and support the implementation of our new OneAdvanced Finance system.

This role is not business as usual; it offers a 3-month fixed-term assignment with hybrid working and a pro rata salary of £75,000 for a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and supporting audits.
• Strong balance sheet controls, governance and regulatory reporting.
• Experience in social housing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead balance sheet assurance activities and strengthen financial controls.
• Investigate and resolve historic accounting and reconciliation issues.
• Provide expert technical accounting advice under FRS 102 and relevant standards.
• Support VAT compliance, reviews and process improvements.
• Play a key role in implementation and embedding of the new finance system.
• Support audit preparation, statutory accounts and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with senior finance colleagues to mitigate risk and drive improvements.
