Job summary

Vitae Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a 3-6 month contract in Hemel Hempstead. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and offering a daily rate of £400-£500 inside IR35.

You will lead a finance team of around five, own year-end close, audits, management accounts and day-to-day reporting. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will drive robust controls, improve processes and work with senior stakeholders to meet key deadlines.

Responsibilities

Interim Financial Controller - 3-6 Month Contract

Hemel Hempstead | Hybrid - 3 days office-based | £400-£500 per day (Inside IR35)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established organisation on an interim basis. This is an immediate requirement, initially for circa 3-6 months, with the potential for the role to develop into a longer-term opportunity. Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will have responsibility for managing a finance team of circa five people, whilst taking ownership of a broad financial control remit covering year-end, audit, management accounts and day-to-day financial reporting.

The Role

About You

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who can quickly step into an established finance function, lead the team and make an immediate impact.

You will ideally have:

• Strong financial accounting and financial control experience
• Proven experience managing year-end and audit processes
• Strong management accounts experience
• Previous experience managing and developing a finance team
• Excellent balance sheet and reconciliation skills
• The ability to work independently and take ownership
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience of working within a busy, hands-on finance environment
• A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is preferred
