Job summary

Absolute Recruit Ltd on behalf of a high growth, founder-led, international retail business seeks an Interim Financial Controller to lead a balance sheet remediation project and strengthen financial controls ahead of year end.

The role is hands-on, technically strong and reports to the CFO; you will oversee multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, support the year-end close, and drive improvements using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Financial Controller or senior finance management experience.
• Experience leading balance sheet remediation across international entities.
• Hands-on, detail-focused finance leader with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting external audits and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead clean-up and reconciliation of group balance sheets across international entities, targeting completion by 31 December 2026.
• Investigate historic postings, aged balances, suspense accounts and intercompany differences.
• Deliver fully evidenced year‑end reconciliations and balance sheet analysis by January 2027.
• Support FY2025 audit, resolve queries and ensure audit adjustments are recorded.
• Oversee month-end close, group management accounts, multi-currency consolidation and financial reporting.
