Absolute Recruit Ltd on behalf of a high growth, founder-led, international retail business seeks an Interim Financial Controller to lead a balance sheet remediation project and strengthen financial controls ahead of year end.

The role is hands-on, technically strong and reports to the CFO; you will oversee multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, support the year-end close, and drive improvements using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a fast-moving environment.

Competenze

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Financial Controller or senior finance management experience.
• Experience leading balance sheet remediation across international entities.
• Hands-on, detail-focused finance leader with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting external audits and year-end close processes.

A high growth, founder-led, international retail business is hiring an interim Financial Controller for a financial reporting and remediation project.

We are supporting a high growth, founder-led, international retail business, with operations across multiple markets. The business is looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to strengthen financial control and deliver a defined balance sheet remediation project ahead of year end.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on, technically strong finance leader who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and working closely with a CFO in a fast-moving business.

Duties

• Lead the clean‑up and reconciliation of group balance sheets across multiple international entities, targeting completion by 31 December 2026.
• Investigate historic postings, aged balances, suspense accounts, intercompany differences and FX‑related discrepancies.
• Deliver fully evidenced year‑end reconciliations and supporting balance sheet analysis by the end of January 2027.
• Support the ongoing FY2025 audit, resolve outstanding queries and ensure audit adjustments are correctly recorded.
• Oversee month‑end close, group management accounts, multi‑currency consolidation and financial reporting.
• Validate margin analysis across countries and product categories, including stock, freight, duties and FX impacts.
• Manage and support accountants/bookkeepers, improve financial controls and contribute to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central process improvements.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Financial Controller or senior finance management experience.
• Demonstrable success delivering hands‑on balance sheet remediation or clean‑up projects.
• Strong technical accounting, group consolidation, multi‑currency and intercompany reconciliation skills.
• Comfortable with stock accounting, margin analysis and international tax/compliance considerations.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Proactive, detailed and commercially aware, with the ability to take ownership and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Background in high‑growth e‑commerce or luxury retail would be advantageous.
