Job summary

The CFO HQ is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a Central London-based, six-month contract. The role is 4 days a week, with hybrid/remote flexibility and a daily rate of £300–£350 outside IR35.

You will work closely with the Director of Finance and Resources and the Accounts Manager to enhance financial systems, deliver improved fund reporting and better budgeting information. You’ll redesign the chart of accounts, implement robust controls, and provide timely management

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with CCAB or equivalent.
• Strong Xero experience: bank feeds, reconciliations and reporting.
• Experience with restricted fund accounting and coding structures for fund reporting.
• Proven budgeting and management accounting experience with budget holders.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance improvement initiatives and support day-to-day operations.
• Review and improve Xero setup, bank feeds, coding and reconciliations.
• Redesign chart of accounts to separate restricted/unrestricted funds.
• Support budgeting cycles for 2027/28 with Excel templates and consolidation.
• Provide clear management reporting with variance analysis and explanations.
• Engage with non-finance colleagues to explain financial performance.
