Job summary

The CFO HQ is recruiting an Interim Financial Controller for a six-month contract based on site in Winchester. The role will take ownership of financial control while a new finance system is implemented, reporting to the Finance Director and collaborating with the Head of Financial Operations.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with interim experience, strong control background, and proven ability to automate processes and drive efficiency in a complex organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience at Financial Controller level.
• Interim experience with a track record of stepping in and delivering quickly.
• Strong financial control background including reconciliations and processes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of financial control across the finance function.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and automate/restructure them.
• Identify and replace manual processes with efficient automation.
• Embed new processes and build capability within the team.
• Support workload rebalancing and design future finance structure.
• Strengthen processes and controls ahead of the finance system replacement.
• Keep month-end and day-to-day operations running during change.
