Job summary

Finatal is seeking an Interim Financial Controller / Senior Accountant in Southampton for an initial 6‑month contract. You will support the Group Financial Controller with hands‑on group accounting, reporting and financial control across a large software/technology business.

Ideal candidates are ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong financial accounting and FC experience, preferably in a software/SaaS environment, and available to start quickly in a Southampton-based hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent.
• Strong financial accounting / Financial Controller experience within a large or complex business.
• Previous experience within a software / SaaS environment strongly preferred.
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on interim capacity and supporting a senior finance leader.
• Strong technical accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
• Available to start quickly and able to work in a Southampton-based hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the GFC across month-end, management reporting and financial control activities.
• Own and review key areas of the Group accounting and reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany accounting.
• Assist with Group reporting and consolidation across a large, complex organisation.
• Work closely with wider finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Support audit, statutory reporting and year-end activities as required.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve reporting and streamline accounting processes.
