Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is partnering with a leading financial services business to appoint an Interim Financial Controller on a 4-month contract. You will take ownership of an established finance function, drive a hands-on approach and support systems, process and technology transition.

The role requires an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with strong experience in financial control, revenue accounting and month-end activities.

Qualifications

Job description

We’re currently working with a leading financial services business that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller on an initial 4-month contract.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of an established finance function while supporting a period of systems, process and technology transition.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure a smooth transition, maintain strong financial controls and bring greater structure and transparency to the existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the Financial Controller function and day-to-day finance processes
• Oversee monthly revenue accounting and month-end close
• Review and maintain balance sheet controls and revenue analysis
• Support the transition to a new technical ledger
• Assist with the integration of the ledger into Workday
• Review, refine and document existing finance processes and policies
• Provide greater governance and transparency around revenue accounting
• Work closely with the existing finance team throughout the transition and handover
• Support wider finance activities including reporting, budgeting and systems-related projects where required

About You:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant
• Strong background within a Financial Controller, Financial Accountant or Technical Accounting position
• Experience across revenue accounting, month-end and balance sheet controls
• Lloyd's, insurance broking or IBA experience highly desirable
• Good understanding of technical ledgers and financial processes
• Experience with finance systems, system implementations or process improvement would be beneficial
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a function
• Able to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with an established finance team
• Resilient and comfortable working in a changing environment
