Job summary

Global Accounting Network Limited is assisting a high-growth clean energy SME in identifying an Interim Financial Controller for a 12-month engagement. You will own day-to-day financial operations, implement robust controls, and drive international consolidations and treasury management to scale the finance function.

You will work closely with the C-suite on planning, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making to optimise working capital and position the business for future fundraising rounds

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven Financial Controller experience in fast-growth environments.
• Experience managing multi-currency, international operations.
• Hands-on financial modelling and budgeting expertise.
• Exposure to fundraising/investor data rooms (desirable).

Job description

Our client is a high-growth SME in the clean energy sector. They have recently completed additional fund raising and are now expanding their international footprint.

They need an Interim Financial Controller for 12 months.

This role offers exceptional autonomy, exposure, and a clear trajectory to establish, lead, and scale the finance function to support the growth of the business.

You will take full ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. You will build robust control frameworks, lead international consolidations, oversee treasury management, and drive strategic budgeting and forecasting. Working closely alongside the C-suite, you will play a central role in guiding strategic decisions, optimizing working capital, and preparing the business for future fundraising rounds and rapid operational scaling.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Governance: Lead relations with global external accountants, manage multi-jurisdictional compliance, and deliver monthly management accounts and annual statements directly to the C-suite.
• Systems & Process Building: Design, implement, and automate financial control policies, budgeting processes, and reporting systems from the ground up.
• Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee FX, group liquidity, and cash flow forecasting to maintain balance sheet strength across international operations.
• Strategic Partnering & Fundraising: Collaborate with executive leadership on business planning, financial modeling, investor relations, and data room preparation for future funding rounds.
• Team Growth: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team as the business continues to scale.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

• Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
• Track Record: Proven experience as a Financial Controller within a fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• International Scope: Demonstrated experience managing multi-currency, international operations, cross-border entities, or strategic partnerships.
• Financial Modelling & Systems: Hands-on expertise in financial modelling, systems implementation, and automated budgeting frameworks.
• Industry Experience (Desirable): Exposure to the resources exploration, upstream energy (Oil & Gas), or natural resource sectors is highly advantageous.
