Job summary

Altum Consulting is seeking an Interim Financial Accountant for a six-month contract in London with hybrid working. You will own key accounting tasks, support month-end processes and ensure IFRS-compliant reporting across the group.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent, strong IFRS knowledge, and experience in month-end reporting, with excellent Excel skills. Prior experience in entertainment or live events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own key financial accounting and reporting tasks.

• Assist revenue recognition across ticketing, sponsorship and licensing.

Interim Financial Accountant | 6-month contract

Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract: 6 months
Day Rate: £350 to £400 per day (Inside IR35)

Altum Consulting is working with a leading business in the entertainment and live events sector to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant for an initial six-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic finance function within a business operating across entertainment, live events and leisure.

The Role

You will take ownership of key financial accounting and reporting responsibilities, supporting the smooth running of the month-end process and ensuring accurate financial reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting the month-end close process.
• Posting and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring accuracy across the ledgers.
• Supporting statutory reporting, year-end audit preparation and financial reporting under IFRS.
• Managing intercompany accounting and supporting consolidation across multiple entities.
• Assisting with revenue recognition across ticketing, sponsorship, licensing and other commercial revenue streams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes and operational efficiencies.
• Working closely with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to provide accurate and timely financial information.

Candidate profile will look like:

• ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent.
• A background in audit, financial accounting or group reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Experience with month-end reporting, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A hands-on, adaptable approach and the confidence to work independently.
• Previous experience within entertainment, media, live events, hospitality or leisure would be advantageous, but is not essential.
