ICAEW is seeking an Interim Finance Manager in Plymouth to lead the finance team and safeguard robust financial controls during a key period. The role is hands-on and requires a commercially minded finance professional who can build relationships quickly and support senior leadership.

With experience in management accounting and financial reporting, you will oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning while supporting year-end activities and audits.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience as Finance Manager or senior finance lead.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills.
• Manufacturing sector experience preferred.
• Experience developing and leading finance teams.
• Available to start at short notice.

Location: Plymouth

Rate: Up to £350 per day

Contract: Interim (Up to 6 months)

Working Pattern: 4 days office-based, 1 day working from home

A well-established manufacturing organisation based in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide leadership and stability to its finance function during a key period for the business. This is a hands‑on role requiring a commercially minded finance professional who can quickly build relationships, support the finance team, and ensure robust financial control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day activities of the finance team


• Oversee monthly management accounts and reporting processes


• Ensure strong financial controls and governance are maintained


• Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning


• Support year-end activities and audit preparation


• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes


• Business partner with operational and senior leadership teams


• Provide financial insight to support decision‑making

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience with relevant background)


• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance lead


• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience


• Manufacturing or operational sector experience preferred


• Experience managing and developing finance teams


• Able to work independently and make an immediate impact


• Available at short notice
