Job description

We’re working in partnership with a green hydrogen technology start-up in West London, currently seeking an Interim Finance Manager for 6 months.

After a successful round of funding, including securing technical partnerships with globally recognised energy and automotive brands, the company is set to grow rapidly this year and requires the support of an experienced Finance professional.

Overview

Rates negotiable (hourly or daily)

Weekly or monthly pay (contractor’s preference)

Hybrid working arrangement – 2 days/week onsite (on average).

This role is outside IR35.

Accountabilities
  1. Preparation of monthly and annual financial documents
  2. Improving and refining financial operations of a fast-growing organisation
  3. Producing month end, accounts reconciliations, expenses and accruals, and management accounts
  4. Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets and supporting cash flow reporting and tracking
  5. Recording financial transactions in format for grant compliance
  6. Payroll, pension, and employees travel & expense reimbursement
  7. Conducting reconciliation of the company's bank accounts and credit card activities
  8. Preparing purchase orders in accordance with requests for materials
  9. Performing all activities related to the accounts payable function: including reviewing, coding, and administering payments
  10. Preparing Quarterly VAT returns (Xero)
About You

You will:

  1. Be a competent and experienced user of Xero accounting software (Essential)
  2. Have experience using Google Sheets and possess generally strong IT skills
  3. Have bookkeeping or accounting qualifications (AAT/ ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  4. Bring a broad background and track record in the accurate operation and performance of bookkeeping and basic management accounting functions
  5. Be a methodical, process-driven person, with a passion for accuracy and excellence
  6. Be a proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast-developing company
  7. Able to identify improvement opportunities, suggest improvements, and action change
