Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting are supporting a longstanding client, an established community services organisation, to recruit an Interim Assistant Accountant/Finance Business Partner in Bodmin. The role is full-time, starting ASAP and ending June 2025, with a remit to produce management accounts and clear commentary.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance, provide financial intelligence for projects and budgets, lead reconciliations, assist with audits, and contribute to costings and

Qualifications

• Experienced in business partnering or management accounting, or as an Assistant Accountant seeking progression.
• Experience in public services environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Candidates may be part/fully professionally or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Excellent all-round IT aptitude, particularly MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary for senior management.
• Provide financial intelligence to assist in projects, analysis, and budget reporting.
• Comment on monthly reporting pack data to financial and non-financial leaders.
• Lead control account reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and recharges.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual budgets.
• Identify areas to improve financial performance of divisions.
• Assist in budgeting and business planning.
• Assist in preparing for the annual audit.
• Support Head of Finance with ad-hoc projects and costings.
