Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner to support a growing construction business with commercial finance expertise.

The role partners with project managers and senior stakeholders, delivering meaningful financial insight, budgeting, forecasting, and project reporting. You will be hands-on, autonomous, and able to quickly build relationships while challenging performance where needed.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Experience as Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager or senior management accounting.
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience.
• Construction/contracting/engineering/property or project-led experience desirable.
• Knowledge of WIP, cost-to-complete, project accounting and contract profitability advantageous.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience.
• Confident to challenge and influence operational stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, adaptable and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Available to start at short notice in an interim environment.

Job description

We are looking for a commercially minded Interim Finance Business Partner to provide additional support to an established finance team within a growing construction business.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar, with strong commercial finance experience and a proven ability to partner with operational teams and senior stakeholders.

Experience within construction, contracting, engineering, property, or another project–led environment would be highly advantageous, particularly with knowledge of project accounting, WIP, cost–to–complete, contract profitability, revenue recognition and gross margins.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely with project managers, commercial teams and operational stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight and challenging performance where appropriate. Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, project reporting and cash flow management would also be beneficial.

This role is primarily about providing additional commercial capacity and expertise to the existing team, supporting with management reporting, financial analysis, project performance, forecasting and ad–hoc finance projects. The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running, work autonomously and quickly build effective relationships across the business.
