Job description

An Interim EMEA Finance Manager is required to join the EMEA Controllership team. You'll be responsible for the close accounting processes and deliverables for various segments, reporting to the Senior Manager.

Description
  1. Manage, support, and develop a team of 2 people, including hiring, objective setting, performance management, guidance, and training.
  2. Ensure quarterly close activities are completed accurately and timely, monitoring the team deliverables checklist and facilitating issue resolution.
  3. Prepare reporting packages and financial reports such as income statements, balance sheet flux schedules, and impairments on time, following up on issues and variances as needed.
  4. Review and approve key close postings and deliverables before period close.
  5. Collaborate closely with local, EMEA, and US teams to bridge knowledge gaps, resolve issues quickly, implement new systems and processes, and manage change.
  6. Approve all journals and intercompany invoices over $1m.
  7. Authorize all monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  8. Maintain the status of an EMEA centre of excellence and liaise daily with EMEA and US teams to ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and legal standards.
  9. Ensure adherence to accounting policies for EMEA content, acquisitions, pre-buys, US content, contributions, and third-party content.
  10. Approve system setups for assets, liabilities, amortization, collapsing assets, and AP payments; advise the team on issue resolution.
  11. Prepare EMEA BS Flux, investigate variances, and report feedback to US and EMEA leadership teams.
  12. Review EMEA Media P&L Flux for all major lines of business, investigate variances, and provide feedback to leadership teams.
  13. Lead quarterly close calls to provide timely and accurate updates to leadership.
  14. Partner with local Finance, US controllership, and other teams to drive change, add value, and maintain commercial awareness.
  15. Coordinate with external auditors, including attending audit calls.
  16. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Disney Minimum Control Standards, such as journal logs.
  17. Identify and implement process improvements to maintain high service standards efficiently.
  18. Manage legal entity rationalisation activities, including mergers and transfers of business.
Profile
  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with at least 5 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Critical analysis skills and inquisitiveness.
  • Ability to adapt and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective relationships across all organizational levels.
