Job summary

We’re recruiting an Interim Community & Events Fundraising Manager for a well-established Sheffield charity. This six-month role may become permanent and involves leading the Community & Events Fundraising team, managing income and expenditure, and ensuring activity is properly planned.

You’ll build relationships with individuals, groups and local partners, oversee events and in-memory giving, monitor KPIs, budgets and supporter journeys, and provide day-to-day leadership to a busy programme.

Interim Community & Events Fundraising Manager

Are you an experienced fundraiser who enjoys leading a team, building strong community relationships and making sure great fundraising activity happens?

We're recruiting an Interim Community & Events Fundraising Manager for a well-established Sheffield charity. This is a six-month role, with the potential to become permanent, joining at a particularly busy and exciting time.

You'll take responsibility for an established programme covering community fundraising, events and in-memory giving, while providing day-to-day leadership and support to the team.

This isn't a role where you'll be expected to come in and change everything. There is already plenty of good work happening. They need someone who can quickly understand what's working, keep things moving and identify where improvements can genuinely make a difference.

What you'll be doing

You’ll lead and support the Community & Events Fundraising team, providing clear priorities and helping them deliver against agreed plans and income targets.

The role will include managing income and expenditure budgets, monitoring performance and KPIs, overseeing the fundraising calendar and ensuring activity is properly planned and resourced.

You’ll also oversee

• Community fundraising and relationships with individuals, groups and local partners
• A varied programme of owned, third-party and challenge events
• A busy programme of seasonal and Christmas fundraising activity
• In-memory fundraising and sensitive supporter stewardship
• Fundraising volunteers and their engagement
• Budgets, forecasting, income targets and performance
• Supporter journeys and communications, working alongside other internal teams

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need to be an expert in every area of fundraising.

You may have built most of your experience within community fundraising, with some knowledge of events, or you may have worked across a broader fundraising portfolio.

What is important is that you can lead people well, understand what good community fundraising looks like and confidently manage a busy programme of activity.

You’ll ideally have experience of managing fundraising against income and expenditure targets, using data and KPIs to understand performance, and balancing several priorities at once.

You’ll be a supportive and approachable manager who can build trust quickly, make sensible decisions and get up to speed without needing lots of direction.
