Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is working with a Surrey-based local authority to recruit an Interim Building Surveyor for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and capital works across non-housing property assets, delivering safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose buildings.

The position is hybrid with 2-3 days on site and a daily rate of £320. Candidates should have building surveying experience, with knowledge of inspections, cost estimates, and contractor

Qualifications

• Experience in Building Surveying or Estates functions.
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
• Experience delivering repairs and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
• Ability to manage contractors and multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communication with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver reactive repair works across non-housing estate.
• Specify, procure and oversee planned maintenance projects.
• Undertake property inspections, surveys and condition assessments.
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and cost estimates.
• Manage contractors and monitor project delivery, quality, programme and budget.
• Provide professional building surveying advice to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure works comply with legislation, standards and health & safety requirements.
• Support development and implementation of planned maintenance programmes.
