Job summary

The CFO HQ is recruiting an Interim Assistant Financial Controller for a large manufacturing business in Coventry. You will act as right-hand to the Financial Controller, owning cash flow, controls and site reporting in a visible leadership role.

The role is hybrid, four days in the office with Fridays from home, and involves month-end close, detailed variance analysis, budgeting and forecasts, and close collaboration with the external audit team.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is essential.
• Excellent Excel and wider IT skills are essential.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
• SOX testing / internal controls experience desirable but not essential.
• Manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as right-hand to the Financial Controller and lead the finance team.
• Support group and internal reporting to ensure deadlines and accuracy.
• Lead month-end close and perform variance analysis.
• Report actuals, budgets, forecasts and variances for the site.
• Assist in building annual budget and short-term forecasts.
• Own free cash flow end-to-end and monitor working capital KPIs.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end visits.
• Line manage and develop junior staff and support succession planning.
