Job summary

Chase & Holland are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Hull to recruit an Interim Assistant Accountant to support the finance team during a period of transition for a minimum of 4 months, up to end January 2027. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role covers day-to-day transactional finance up to trial balance.

Key duties include raising daily sales invoices, processing credit notes and supplier payments, maintaining the Purchase and Sales Ledgers, payroll assistance,

Qualifications

• Experience in producing accounts to trial balance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Excel and financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Raising daily sales invoices with correct pricing.
• Processing credit notes and debit notes.
• Purchase Ledger and supplier payments.
• Credit control and bank reconciliations.
• Monthly Sales & Purchase Ledger reporting.
• Payroll assistance and expense claims.
• Prepare journals including prepayments and accruals.
• Audit support as required.

Interim Assistant Accountant - Hull - Competitive Salary

Chase & Holland are working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business in Hull, who are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team during a period of transition for a minimum of 4 months, until at least the end of January 2027. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager this role will play an integral part in supporting the business with day-to-day transactional finance up to trial balance.

Assistant Accountant key responsibilities:

• Raising and processing daily sales invoices, ensuring correct pricing
• Processing of credit notes and debit notes
• Purchase Ledger
• Checking, reconciling and processing supplier payments
• Credit Control
• Bank reconciliation
• Monthly reporting of Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger
• Assisting with payroll
• Managing employee expense claims
• Prepare accounts up to trial balance
• Prepare and post journals including prepayments and accruals
• Audit support

Requirements:

• Experience working in a similar varied accounts role, including preparing accounts to TB
• Excellent communication skill both written and verbal
• Highly computer literate including Excel
• Team player and ability to work in a close-knit team
• Strong organisational skills
