Job summary

Morgan McKinley are assisting an SME business to recruit an Interim SME Accountant to join the finance team for approximately 3–4 months, with potential extension. The role is hands-on and covers day-to-day transactions through to supporting the preparation of management accounts.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager, handle VAT returns, month-end and year-end activities, support the annual audit and contribute to system improvements and future acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Experience in SME finance environments with hands-on responsibilities.
• Familiarity with VAT returns and month-end processes.
• Ability to support year-end activities and audits.

Morgan McKinley are working with a growing, ever-changing business to recruit an SME Accountant to join their finance team on an interim basis for a period of approximately 3 - 4 months with the opportunity to get extended.

This is a hands-on, varied role working closely with the Finance Manager and covering everything from day-to-day transactions through to supporting the preparation of management accounts. Responsibilities will include processing transactions, preparing VAT returns, assisting with month-end and year-end activities, and supporting the annual audit.

As the business continues to evolve, there will also be opportunities to get involved in wider projects, including systems improvements, implementation, and future acquisitions.

We're looking for someone who has worked in a similar SME finance role, enjoys variety and is happy to get involved across all areas of finance.
