Job summary

Guidant Global is seeking an Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer for a Bristol-based hybrid role on a 12-month contract. You will design cable assemblies and harnesses, develop electrical schematics, and work with cross-functional teams on defence and aerospace systems.

You will use Zuken E3 across the product lifecycle, contribute to process improvements, and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Interpret subsystem and system-level requirements to develop effective interconnect solutions.
• Create electrical schematics and cable design definitions using Zuken E3.
• Support, guide and troubleshoot issues for E3 users across the engineering community.
• Integrate and utilise Zuken E3 throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Investigate cable and harness design issues, identifying root causes and developing technical solutions.
• Work closely with project teams, manufacturing functions and other engineering disciplines.
• Support product verification, environmental testing and functional trials.
• Contribute to process development, capability enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives relating to E3 workflows.
• Provide technical advice and support to resolve manufacturing and production challenges.

Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer | Bristol (Hybrid) | 12 Month Contract | £50 per hour Umbrella

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer to join a specialist Electronic Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on sophisticated engineering programmes, contributing to the design and development of critical cable and harness systems used within highly advanced products.

The Opportunity

As an Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer, you will join a team recognised as the organisation's subject matter experts in connectivity and interconnect solutions. You will be responsible for designing cable assemblies and harnesses, supporting product development activities, and providing technical expertise across the wider business.
Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll have the opportunity to influence design standards, drive process improvements and support the implementation of industry-leading engineering tools and methodologies.
