Job summary

Mitie Group plc. at Canary Wharf in London is seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to join the Security Operations Team.

You will monitor CCTV, coordinate incident responses, and support travel risk and asset protection across the client estate. The role requires strong situational awareness, calm decision-making under pressure, and effective liaison with on-site teams, external agencies, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a Security Control Room or regional Operations Centre.
• Valid SIA CCTV Licence and SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• Valid EFAW/FAW certification.
• Experience operating CCTV/video analytics and access control systems.
• Excellent observation and situational awareness.
• Strong incident management and report-writing experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate CCTV and video analytics systems.
• Proactively surveil key locations and identify suspicious activity in real time.
• Assess incidents and coordinate appropriate responses; escalate per procedures.
• Support emergency response activities and business continuity arrangements.
• Manage and monitor access control systems and alarms; recertification activities.
• Communicate with security officers, workplace teams, travel risk teams, and stakeholders.
• Maintain incident logs and produce detailed incident reports and intelligence summaries.
• Assist during emergencies and coordinate with emergency services and stakeholders.
• Support audits, SOPs, and information security compliance.
