Job summary

Mitie Care & Custody is seeking an Intelligence Collator to collate, input and manage intelligence related documentation. You will process information for investigations, log security data and prepare escort records, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, clear written English and strong IT skills. Prior experience in secure environments or security intelligence is desirable, with training provided where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a secure environment or security intelligence/data analyst role is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collate, process and input intelligence documentation including Security Information.
  • Record reports on IRS and IMS for investigation and review.
  • Conduct initial analysis and enquiries with sources as needed.
  • Log security information including nominals and contact stoppages.
  • Prepare escort paperwork including risk assessments and escort records.
  • Monitor outgoing calls on PINPhone for ad-hoc or intelligence needs.
  • Maintain public protection records impacting risk to the public and victims.
  • Organise, produce and maintain accurate records for areas of work.
  • Prioritise and distribute communications to relevant departments.
  • Correspond with stakeholders to ensure information is shared appropriately.
  • Maintain databases and logs, producing reports within set timescales.
  • Take notes/minutes for meetings and distribute actions.
  • Serve as Command Suite Log Keeper to the command team when required.

Job objectives and responsibilities

The duties/responsibilities listed describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive. The Job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary. Significant adjustments may require re-examination during supervision and bi-lat meetings and shall be discussed in the first instance with the Job Holder

  • Collate, process and input intelligence associated documentation including Security Information
  • Reports and Incident Reports onto relevant IT systems such as Incident Reporting System (IRS) and Intelligence Management System (IMS) for investigation.
  • Carry out an initial analysis and assessment of information received, making contact with the source and conducting initial enquiries / investigation as needed.
  • Log all security related information including development nominals, stoppages of contact.
  • Prepare and complete escort paperwork, including risk assessment, Prisoner Escort Records
  • (PERs) and escape packs for all external escorts, bedwatches and court attendance.
  • Monitor outgoing telephone calls on the PINPhone system, on an ad-hoc & intelligence led and public protection basis.
  • Maintain public protection records linked to risk status which will impact risk to members of the public and victims such as child contact, restraining orders and victim vulnerabilities.
  • Undertake other administrative tasks including: -
  • Organise, produce and maintain accurate records for areas of work.
  • Prioritise and distribute communications to the appropriate person or relevant department in the establishment.
  • Correspond with relevant stakeholders and agencies to ensure that they are aware of information so that information is adequately shared.
  • Maintain and check establishment databases, manual filing systems and logs of information, responding within agreed timescales and producing reports as required.
  • Act as note/minute taker to meetings as required including organising agenda, distributing minutes and action points.
  • Act as Command Suite Log Keeper to the command team as and when required.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be a clear communicator, both verbally and in written English of a high standard. They should possess intermediate to expert IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Whilst not essential it is highly desirable that the ideal candidate has previous experience working in a secure environment, or experience working in a security intelligence or data analyst role.

Preferred experience includes operational experience in prisons, technical knowledge of relevant prison legislation, policies, standards, and an understanding of the wider criminal justice system. Familiarity with the Intelligence Management Service (IMS) or Mercury Intelligence System (MIS) would also be advantageous.

Preferred qualifications include those equivalent to Level 3 or above, such as A levels, Advanced Apprenticeships, AS Levels, International Baccalaureate diplomas, Level 3 Awards, Certificates and Diplomas, and Level 3 NVQ accreditations
