You will be working for a boutique Lloyd’s Broker specializing in Marine Insurance, with offices worldwide. The company is multicultural and expanding, with an office move planned for Autumn 2024 nearby the current location. They are fully service-oriented, serving clients with expertise in various marine coverages, including Hull & Machinery, Increased Value, Freight Interest, P&I, War Risks, Kidnap & Ransom, and Yachts. The firm handles business from multiple offices and directly with clients and other producers, dealing with a wide range of accounts and experience in various tonnage, records, clients, and trading.
As a Marine Technician, your responsibilities will include calculating premiums, processing entries in the in-house broking system, producing lineslip bordereaux, reviewing and processing line-slip declarations, generating debit/credit notes, and handling closings for underwriters. You will also utilize Xchanging daily, produce LPANs, and manage bureau submissions competently. Additional duties involve liaising with the bureau to resolve queries, building relationships within the team and with external partners, managing workflows, maintaining organized workspaces, and keeping records and reports accessible for management. You will handle ad hoc inquiries and perform general administrative tasks.
Successful candidates will have previous experience as a Marine Technician in the London Insurance Market. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment are essential. You should be able to prioritize tasks, manage stakeholder expectations, understand and follow instructions, and communicate effectively and professionally with clients, colleagues, and insurers.
