A local council authority in Grimsby is seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage insurance claims and ensure effective insurance services. You will serve as the first point of contact for queries, leveraging your administrative skills to liaise with various stakeholders and support procurement processes. Training is provided, making this a great opportunity for those looking to grow in the insurance field.
Could you be the person who helps protect the council by managing insurance claims and ensuring the right cover is in place when it matters most?
If you're someone who has a keen eye for detail, enjoys working with data, and thrives in a role where communication and problem-solving are key, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll be responsible for delivering a full range of insurance services across the council. You'll be the first point of contact for insurance queries and claims, supporting internal teams, schools, elected members, and external partners. From managing claims and interpreting policy documents to supporting procurement and renewal processes, your work will help ensure the council's insurance function runs smoothly and effectively.
Your day will be a mix of communication, coordination, and analysis. You'll monitor the insurance inbox, register new claims, and update systems like LACHS. You'll liaise with insurers, brokers, solicitors, and members of the public to ensure claims are handled efficiently. You will assess the quality of information provided, escalate complex cases, and support the Senior Insurance Advisor with Freedom of Information requests and complaints. Additionally, you'll provide guidance on insurance queries and help promote risk management across the council.
We're seeking someone with strong administrative experience and excellent IT skills. While a solid understanding of insurance processes and regulations is desirable, it is not essential, as extensive training will be provided. You should be confident working independently, prioritising tasks, and communicating with diverse audiences. Integrity, adaptability, and a proactive approach are essential qualities.
We aim to provide shortlisted candidates with interview questions 24 hours in advance. We reserve the right to close the application process early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
