Job summary

Yorkshire Housing in Leeds is seeking an Insurance and Claims Officer to join the Governance, Risk and Assurance team. You’ll manage a varied portfolio from first notification through to settlement, using judgement, attention to detail and negotiation skills to deliver fair outcomes.

This agile homeworking role combines remote work with days in the Leeds workspace for team time. You’ll build relationships with insurers, handle property damage, liability and housing disrepair claims, and

Qualifications

• You already have experience working in insurance and handling personal injury and/or third-party damage claims.
• Decision-making, inquisitiveness and collaboration to achieve the best outcomes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of claims from first notification to settlement.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence and assess liability.
• Negotiate settlements and monitor claim reserves.
• Identify trends to improve processes and share guidance with colleagues.
• Support the My Home Contents Insurance scheme and renewal activities.
